Some of you may have seen the "Recollection" video, which is an olde. It's that video that has all sorts of clips from the jobs on FFXI and such... If you haven't seen it, you can download it in the link I'll give in a bit. Anyway... So this group, /sit and /wave Productions, has a mini-series of sorts going called "Lament of Torment". In short... It's about a guy who goes "evil" and has the GM's join his side and kill all the people of Vana'diel, including women and children. Six adventurers escape, who also happen to be old friends of the "villain", and train so that they can defeat him and the GM's. That's probably as close to the plot as I can get, lol. So if you like FFXI, bored, or a little of both, go -here- and download it. I haven't really seen much of LoT2 yet, but I'll work on it sometime. The trailer for it was badass.

This past week

So I started college on Monday and have had the opportunity to be in 4 out of 5 of my classes. English is on Friday's only, so that's the only one I haven't been in yet. It's also the only class I have zero of my textbooks for... So Monday I went in early since I wanted to 1) Get my textbooks (big mistake...) and 2)Be able to actually find my classes. So yeah... It was a huge mistake to go in at the beginning of the day to get my textbooks. I had originally ordered them back on the 8th of August, and they had never shipped them to me for whatever reason. I then had the great honor of carrying around 2 20 lb bags of textbooks, which were in plastic bags mind you, so that didn't help at all either, all day long, with a very heavy and uncomfortable bag that I carried my laptop in. Needless to say, I was in a great deal of pain, and very tired by the time I got home.

Yesterday was pretty shitty as well. I didn't have to carry around those two plastic bags anymore, but my laptop bag got heavier. I also missed the 130 by about 30 seconds on my way home, and for those that live in the Orleans area, you know that the 130 is a bus that only comes every 30 minutes. So I had 2 options. I could either wait around for 30 minutes and catch the next 130, or I could just walk home, and probably get to the house in about 20 minutes. I ended up deciding to walk, which I fully regretted 5 minutes later. Hot sun directly on you + humidity + hill + shoulders in extreme amounts of pain + heavy bag = a very very sad Jody. The fact that what I thought was a short cut ended up being a long cut didn't help at all either.

Quantitative Methods looks like it's gonna suck... I get to work with formula's that look like this The *really* good news for me though is, I don't actually have to memorize any of the formula's! Yay! I just have to know how to use them. We can take the double-sided 7 page formula sheets he gave us into midterms and exams. We're also allowed to write little notes by them if it helps us figure out what we're supposed to use them with/for. However, my textbook is fookin' huge o_o 950-some pages.

Financial Accounting... I can't really say much about. The teacher seems nice, and has a good sense of humor. I'll comment on it more after I've had more classes?

Economic Issues I can't say much about either. The prof wasn't even there the first day, instead some other guy just went over the course outline and we were dismissed 30 min into the class. All of our lectures are going to be posted on Blackboard the night before, and that's supposed to be a big chunk of what the classes are supposed to be.

And last but not least, Business Computer Applications. This is a program that I really think I'm going to be looking forward to ^^ Basically teaches you how to use all of the Microsoft Office stuff (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) to a certain level. According to our outline, by the end of the coarse I'm supposed to be... Beginner level + in Outlook, Beginner level + in Access, Intermediate in PowerPoint, and Expert level is Word and Excel o.o What makes me excited the most about it I think is the way we're learning it. You can do it at your own pace. "This course uses software called SAM to simulate your learning experience. When you log into SAM it will evaluate your current skills, train you on only those tasks you don't know how to do, and allow you to write your final exam as well." describes it pretty much. =o I think I've rambled about it long enough xD

Tomorrow is gonna be a really long day T.T But Friday I get out at 12, and it's a long weekend after that, so woo! Anyway, time to finish off the rest of that reading for Economic Issues. @_@

Dynamis-Xarcabard fun

I spent a good chunck of my morning trying to figure out what exactly was wrong with the html in my old layout. After finally isolating what it was, I just couldn't figure out how the heck to fix it and decided that I would just use something similar to my very first layout. Unfortunetly, whenever I upload the picture at the top, the quality goes down, so her pretty little face looks all pixilated.

After a few hours or cooking/fishing, it was time for Dynamis-Xarcabard. Absolutely no AF dropped sadly, and we had a few wipes. We did, however, get a chance to go check out and play with Ying and Yang when we had about 15 minutes left on the timer, which was pretty cool. We got them down to around 40% or so each before we ended up wiping, since everyone, included the mages, were getting Petrified. After getting mostly everyone up, and having maybe... 5 minutes left of the time, Wulfgarr decided to pull Dynamis lord for the hell of it, which was also quite entertaining. He did actually manage to survive for quite a while, surprisingly. Damn Galka and their massive HP.

Yesterday and Today

So yesterday (Wednesday) I had my Campus Preview down at Algonquin College. The bus ride down there wasn't as long as I was expecting it to be. From Blair Station down to Baseline it was only about a 30 minute bus ride... So add about 10-15 minutes to that and I guess that'll be how long it will normally take me to get down there.

So yeah, anyway. It's a fairly big school... I could see myself getting lost >.> Then again, that's not saying much... It's divided into about 10 different sections, named by letters (does that make sense?), depending on what division of the school you're in. All my first semester classes are in B and T building (Business and Technology would be the logical matches to the letters) so not really a difficult concept.

Preview starts at 9AM and pretty much just started out by having different people from different parts of the school explain what it is they do. And by that I mean.. People from the Registrars Office explained what they did... Financial Aid explained what they did, etc etc... Then they had student representatives come up and start doing cheers and dances... They did a banana dance... It was embarrassing to watch, and they expected everyone to dance along. Only about 5% of the crowd actually did though, so I don't think I was alone in thinking "What the hell are these people on?" Then we had a comedian come in and did a "Funny Money" presentation which was basically telling you good ways to budget and manage your money... Except in a very funny way. He was definitely very entertaining. After that was lunch break, where I then went to get my Student ID (My hair looks really long for whatever reason in it?) and got my picture taken for my OC Transpo pass. Then went to get food at Pizza Pizza, and decided that my feet hurt way too much do bother doing a tour of the whole school (I have blisters on both of my feet from wearing flip flops) so I decided to just follow my schedule and see where my classes were going to be.

So after I while I left back for Place d'Orleans where I picked up an annual student bus pass... Shitty thing was, while I was at the college, I had to pay $5 to get my picture taken there... And for whatever reason, the one they took wasn't good enough, and they charged me another $5 to have it retaken. After that I decided to go in and reserve a copy of Final Fantasy 12. Sadly I couldn't reserve a copy of the strategy guide yet though ; ; Then I took a quick run into Entertainment Inc and bought Vol. 3 of Aishiteruze Baby and Vol. 14 of Fruits Basket... Then finally made my way back home.

After settling back down on my bed I decided to go through the "gift" bag they had given everyone. Originally at preview I just quickly looked through it and didn't see anything out of the ordinary, just a bunch of papers, booklets, pens and a frisbee. Soon after almost completely emptying the bag, I find 4 condoms at the bottom. I was thrown off guard with that >.> I was highly entertained, and yet, somewhat disturbed at the same time. Definitely a weird feeling. After that, I don't really remember much of my day.

Today I went shopping with my mom to get some new clothes, because well... I really don't have many longer sleeve shirts, or shirts that'd keep me very warm during the fall. A huge chunk of my wardrobe for the time being is just tank tops and tee's and such. So yeah, we went shopping down at Place d'Orleans and I got some pens, pencils, a calculator and some post-it flags. Then we went over to Suzy Shier and I got 5 new shirts :o Today just happened to be the day they had 10% off everything in the store, so I guess I picked a good random day to go. I also bought a Prestige card, which basically gets me an additional 10% off everything I get at the store... And it only cost an extra $1 o.o So I thought "Why the hell not?" But yeah... 5 new really nice shirts/sweaters and such ^^

After getting home I went to LS skyfarm, and was only about 30 minutes late. We stayed at Despot for about 1.5-2hrs I think it was... But then all our stunners had to leave, so we decided to move onto Ulli. It popped not long after we got there, but the gilsellers managed to get the claim in kill it ; ; We called it a night after that. After that I played DDR and leveled cooking back and forth. After using all my Ice Crystals, and about 30 stacks of Selbina Butter later, I just barely make it to level 20 cooking, yay.

For various reasons I decided to try starting up my blog again...
